Brew. Drink. Donate.
Most of you might already be aware of the disastrous fire near the town of Paradise, California from just a few months ago, that within minutes raged through the community, obliterating a football field per second of everything in its path, destroying nearly 10,000 homes, killing many residents and leveling the town of 27,000 people.
You might also have heard of Sierra Nevada's initiative of bringing together 1,400+ breweries around the world to brew the very same beer and donate all of their proceedings to rebuilding the homes and lives of all those affected by the fire. These are the people that have set the foundation for craft beer as we know it today, with Ken Grossman starting off himself as a homebrewer way before even founding Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in 1980.
In solidarity with these breweries, Hopsylvania is joining them in brewing a 20 L (5 gal) batch of Resilience IPA and is inviting homebrewers in or around Munich to join in lending a helping brewer’s hand! You've done it before when it came to fire and beer, Munich, so let's do it again! Let's come together and show our support to all those in need of our help! The idea is simple, here's what you have to do:
- Sign-up in the form below
- Purchase your own ingredients
- Brew & package the beer
- Bring it to the venue
- Spread the word!
Once our beer is ready, we'll bring it to the event where people can drink it in exchange for small donations to the victims of the Camp Fire (since we technically can't sell it). That's when we'll also be able to compare brews, share notes and learn from each other's experience, all while also raising money for charity.

Since homebrewers technically can't sell beer, the participating brewers will be offering it to the public for free at The Crowbar instead. Our hope is that for each beer you drink you will make a payment in the form of a donation in our tip jar of whatever sum you see fit. These donations will provide much needed support for rebuilding Butte County.
